With former Native Nod and eventual Lapse singer/guitarist Chris Leo at the helm, the band's original membership included Brian Maryanski (Jets To Brazil) on guitar, Sean Greene (Sin Eaters) on bass, and Neil O'Brian on drums. Recalling a more melodic side of Sonic Youth with Leo's guitar-driven, half-spoken, half-sung delivery. Heartfelt, melodic, and just plain gorgeous songs.

Thunderheist
Saturday, 06/20/2009@ 9PM
What: Never having met in person, but electronically connected through common musical friends, producer Grahm Zilla and Nigerian-born rapper / vocalist Isis began Thunderheist to throw a wrench into static hip hop conventions and explore their love for the dancefloor. After touring steadily throughout North America and Europe for over two years and hunkering down in the studio for a good chunk of '08, "Toronto's shit-hot electro duo" (NME) justreleased their first full length. The chaotic energy of their live shows is honed to a unique narrative of contemporary music that draws on established musical genres while venturing into uncharted territory. Thunderheist is far more than an electrorap act; grounded in hip hop, booty bass, and electro, they are also deeply in love with disco, pop, and R&B. Big Dada
