What: Journalist Farai Chideya anchored National Public Radio’s News and Notes, has been a correspondent for ABC News, anchored Pure Oxygen on the Oxygen channel, and contributed commentaries to CNN, Fox, MSNBC, and BET, in addition to her work in print and other radio outlets. In her debut novel, Kiss the Sky, Chideya chronicles the ups and downs of a black female rocker attempting to make a musical comeback amidst struggles with love, friendship, and faith.

What: In its third exhibition of Fleisher Art Memorial's Wind Challenge series, Challenge 3 showcases the work of three talented artists. Johanna Inman will be showing old photographs focusing on disregarded books and highlighting the subtleties of time and decomposition; Yvonne Lung will show a video installation based on stories told to her by Chinese immigrants and Constantina Zavitsanos will be showing unique, engaging sculptures. Gallery hours are 11AM - 5PM.

Spring Awakening

What: Multiple Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Spring Awakening comes to Philadelphia. Duncan Sheik (we all remember radio hit "Barely Breathing") wrote all of the music, giving the musical a folky/alternative rock feel, as it explores teenage sexuality and the transition to adulthood in late 19th century Germany.
