 What:   The Philadelphia Museum of Art this summer presents Adventures in Modern Art: The Charles K. Williams II Collection, a major collection of American and European modernist works; includes approximately 100 paintings, sculptures, watercolors, and drawings from the early decades of the 20th century. Several famed artists featured, among them Joseph Stella, Oscar Bluemner, Charles Demuth, and Arthur Dove. On view in the Dorrance Galleries (July 12 - September 13, 2009).

Sonny Rollins

What:   A genuine jazz giant, Theodore Walter “Sonny” Rollins is the iconic American jazz tenor saxophonist. He has enjoyed a long, prolific career that began at age 11, and is still touring and recording today. Rollins remains an exhilarating and inspiring force in the jazz world.
